You get approached from multiple avenues: emails, DMs, even telemarketers. Its extremely annoying, but being over saturated with advertisements is just another day. This time you receive a message; but you can’t tell if its too good to be true… or if its even generated by a physical person. Let us narrow down the basics for those that suffer from the hands of online bots.
No Clear Signs of a Personality
Meaning there is no substance or depth to the character. The dialog sounds very copy and paste, souless, teleprompted. How could it when one of the core functions of AI is to learn to imitate human nature?
Lack of Real World Experience
Almost as if talking to a child but way worse and vain. AI speaks through the experiances of other sources. An obivous giveaway is the bot’s dialog sounds as if a friend googled the answer in front of you. The information can be thorough but the dialog can sound “unsure.”
Using Repetition to Elaborate on Key Points
AI has a bad habit of when confronted to emphasize a key point it says what was said before, but delivers the same answer in a different way. Sometimes this interaction would repeat itself a few times. Then you realize you had a 10 minute conversation but didn’t get an actual real answer. The same answer and tpoic it can’t process away from is just retranslated with different dialog.
No Clear Side in Argument, always Balanced or Neutral in Standing
You can never get the cut dry, grounded, 100% conclusive answer from AI. The obvious reason said from before is that AI lacks real world experiance. Because of this the Bot can’t “stand ten toes” or be biased enough the state anything other than circumstance to be true or false. So every answer will be nuetral as possible unless “credable” sources confirms the information to be true.
Predictable Formatting: Intro, Body, Conclusion
Whether its speech or audio responses, they all follow the same format. Begins with some form of into, half the time its some form of greeting. The main point is a straight but thorough answer regardless of context. The response is always going to have an effiecient answer as if ready for the proper response for any given situation. The conclusion from my experience always sound like what a job would say when they are letting you go or passing up from you with a different candidate. Charming but imediately dismissive.
Delayed Responses
The less complex AI you can see this issue, but its also common for the more advance. Responses are consistent with a delay whether it being a few seconds or half a second. There is always a consistent pause between responses. After a few interactions you begin to realize this “entity” always need time to process. The response definately dosn’t feel human.
Obvious Flaws Performing Human Art
AI isn’t perfect, but it strives to be. Evan the best image, audio, and video generaters show its flaws. Inconsistant lighting, physics, dialect, depth, orginality, etc. can be exposed almost instantly by veterans.
