In the mist of technology overload, war, and socio-economic conflict there is a force brewing in the background. Nature at its finest bringing an inconvenient record shattering surprise. Brace yourself and prepare for what can be a wild card of global climate change that could affect resources in all nations.
Whats’ the Story?
To paraphrase, El Niño is a natural warming of parts of the Pacific Ocean that temporarily changes weather patterns around the world. This phenomenon, a natural temporary cycle is said to be documented as far back as the 1600’s. Normally, strong winds push warm ocean water toward the western Pacific. During El Niño those winds weaken, which cause warm water to spread back in the eastern Pacific. This causes: more rain and flooding in some regions, warmer global temperatures, changes in storms, fisheries, and agriculture, drier conditions and droughts in others, etc. The real “eye-opener” isn’t so much what it does, but when it occurs; which these temperature rise during winter.
Why the Concern?
This could add an extra weight and trouble to what appears to be an interesting time; where global affairs are already destroying resources. This will cause more competition, scarcity, possible natural disasters, as well as uncomfortable living conditions. Just applying more pressure to the long list of concerns regarding human safety.
What’s the Solution?
Honestly is there evan a solution? Global Warming is said to be what is comtributing to the “super” aspect of the natural occurence. This is one of those situations where if the progression of human society didn’t disrupt the balence of the world, the intensity may have been avoided. On the other hand is this something that would have been avoided because nature is unpredictable? The only solid answer to this is for people to prepare themselves and stock up on resources.
