Streamers, IG Models, Youtubers, etc., are focal centers of today’s entertainment world. Though they may have worked hard and sacrificed a lot to reach their status; maintaining business integrity and consistency isn’t a common inherited trait. How do you know if you’re following the right character? Here we outline some key questions that should help you separate the genuine influencers from the community.
What is the Expense of their Content?
Meaning what exactly do they do to acquire and or create the entertainment that keeps you coming back? Do they for example… Make a disrespectful mockery of themselves? Intentionally traumatizing civilized people on the streets? Sharing their absolutely disgusting sexual acts in vivid detail for people to remember? Make sure the person your following aligns with respectful intentions.
How do they Treat their Fan Base?
When you lead a following, wouldn’t it be wise to respect and be mindful of your followers? It’s not easy tending to hundreds to thousands of people. It’s also not easy to be absolutely hated by hundreds to thousands of people as well. From the love struck simpleton fan base waiting for their next shot at love with a “beautiful star;” to the warmongers using the art of politics to weaponize online communities. The following is what gives these people power, not the other way around.
How are they Behind the Scenes?
Pretty on the outside, rotten on the inside. I’m sure most of us have seen the type, and “famous” people are no different. Ask yourself what am I investing my time and energy into? Is it the genuine person inside, or am I attracted to the image or illusion of the influencer? Just know with enough money, anything can be fabricated…
What does the Influencer stand for, is it for Good Morality?
How healthy is this individual’s lifestyle? Could you see yourself doing half the stuff for a living? If not what keeps you coming back? Mental health and trauma isn’t exactly something to glorify, yet to capitalize off of it can push someone to extremes. Ask yourself, what harm can these activities cause?
Can you see their brand lasting into the future?
Content doesn’t always age well. How you are now, may not be the same person tomorrow. Same goes for followers and the ever changing appropriation of content made in different eras. Brands fall short due to lack of substance in their work; or maybe the content didn’t mature and fell out of touch to last in this race. As the saying goes, why board a sinking ship?
How has the Money Changed Them?
“Mo Money, Mo Problems” How many times have we heard the comeback story; started from the bottom of poverty to a miracle conclusion of wealth. The real question is, how has the attitude changed during this level up? Most importantly how ugly do these influencers get when the well runs dry? Does the person make the money, or does the money make the person?
