Wraith is a sin, I guess if you’re a believer of such principles. I was gaming online and to make a long story short. An online teammate was so extremely disappointed by our embarrassing defeat that he did what is commonly known in the gaming community as a “Rage Quit.” As my fellow online lobby laughed and roasted this man on the concluded situation. That moment it hit me, how must a meaningless and mindless entertainment have such a personal effect on people.
I would be a hypocrite if I said I never rage quit when I do indeed, many times a day. Gaming for me is like an alternate form of watching television, but just more hands on. Wouldn’t you agree? Also it is part stress reliever in my day. I mean I’ll be honest. Reader, after a long draining day from work its nice to unload all that negative energy into some mindless virtual shooting and manslaughter. Also I’m a huge $h!t talker in the online community. Of course I won’t reveal to you my online tag, but I bring the smack talk. I like to express… obviously. Sometimes it takes a big “U Turn” downhill, when you find out the person your harassing might be a high school teen. Online gaming these days are way more intensely interactive. In one of the message feeds I’m tagged in, the amount of racism would blow your mind. A lot of people think because they’re anonymous, that this is a gateway to really show the true piece of $h!t they are. Gamers out there, tell me if I’m wrong.
True story, I’m unsure if my gamer tag screams loneliness or what. I get these video girls, that hustle lonely guys to these lobbies where they make big bank from all kinds of weirdo requests. And these hustlers are using gamer networks by starting an account and with access to countless virgins, rack in a number of clientele. I get these messages “Hey how are you”, baiting me in. Then I will eventually hear “I work for my money” and “ free of charge invites” to one of their “sessions” of course. Yeah I accessed the free invite, but that’s besides the point. I recalled one guy I randomly friended who seemed okay, until I fell victim to the dark side. This individual had a habit of constantly messaging me to his party chats even when I wasn’t on my system. I would log on to my gaming system, flooded with almost 100 invites in my personal feed. You tell me if that is a bit “insane.” Gaming networks have this thing called “block.” When I cleared myself of that bizarre mess, it baffled me that this guy. Whom I never physically seen or met, would have such a creep-ish personal attachment to me. I guess I have that affect.
The best highlight in gaming is the beef. Arguments that can turn feelings inside out. Underrated part of the gaming community are the female gamers. Not too many female gamers I’m consistent with but I know enough to build a squad and embarrass other male gamers. I encourage female gamers, brings a positive element. I will admit that they have an incredible amount of male gamers breathing down their necks and its annoying to some of them. I had one female gamer tell me she gets hit on once a day when she games. My point being is guys stop being so thirsty, be brotherly. Sometimes a woman wants to get some multi-kills without having a guy messaging their selfies.
You ever think that maybe all these crazy realistic games are conditioning many of us to be more susceptible to the bloody and gory? This is that element that I’m talking about that is causing some of these young folks to live life literally like “ Grand Theft Auto.” Awesome game, but you don’t know how literal some of these kids take it. I won’t lie, after playing a game where every 30 seconds in the game I see a dismantled body. I kind of feel like I’ve seen it all. Even though I know for a fact that I haven’t. See that’s how you correctly separate the real and the fantasy with gaming.
Online gaming, I will express is sometimes a great sit down experience at home. Meeting many but random people from all over the world. The innovative and original stories that I listen to every other day. Almost like the new radio. And to add importantly the sense of accomplishment that you would feel from the dynamic of overcoming as a team. Some might ask, “well how can you really have friends online.” Its not about the friends, its about people coming together for the enjoyment of escaping the boredom of reality.
